We are thankful and grateful for all of the many blessings we have shared this year!  We celebrate Te-Reisha Graves accomplishment in passing the California bar exam. as an Alive & Free alumni.  

Chef Gator Thompson of Fenix Supper Club makes the room laugh with the story of how he got the name Gator and gives us some healthy alternatives to cooking Southern food.

Technology surrounds our world and the Hidden Genius Project encourages and teaches Black male youth how to create technology using code.  The Hidden Genius Project seeks to reveal the true potential of black male youth and transform their communities from the inside out. Through our student-centered, project-based approach, we invest in young Black men, give them access to technology training and plug them into an ecosystem of  innovation and empowerment.

Issues of snitching comes up as we chat with the community about the murder of Tyshawn Lee, a 9-year-old Chicago boy who was lured into an alley and shot because of his father's alleged gang connections.

We also chat with the family of A'Tierra Westbrook, a 21-year-old Vallejo resident who was shot and killed at 7am in front of her home before she left for work.

Together, we can work to stay alive and free.
